I am not a face. I am what remains when the features disappear. In this fragmented body, light and shadow no longer oppose each other: they coexist, they mingle, they dispute existence. This white that invades is neither purity nor absence, but an erased memory, an identity hesitating between appearing and dissolving. I wanted to remove the markers, tear out the eyes, blur the mouth, so that whoever looks no longer sees a person… but feels a presence. A tension. A fragility. This painting is a passage. Between what we show and what we hide. Between flesh and silence. Between being and vanishing. If you seek a face, you will find only yourself.
