In this work, I tried to translate the moment of spiritual serenity experienced by the dancer in the Dervish rituals, where constant movement turns into a kind of inner stillness.
I focused on the sense of light as a key element, making it flow from above to be the center of visual attraction, like a moment of connection between the earthly and the spiritual.
I used colors with intentional freedom, between warm and cold tones, to express the conflict and balance within the human being. The movement of the circular cape was for me a way to show energy and release, not just an aesthetic form.
The white pigeons in the painting symbolize peace and freedom, an element that complements the overall mood I wanted to convey to the viewer: A sense of liberation, contemplation, and tranquility amidst the movement.
