“Mr. Emerald”

“Mr. Emerald” is a pivotal visual work in a series that explores the affective relationship between women, nature, and memory; here, the organism emerges as an actor in a symbolic world of tranquility.

The painting is centered around the cat Zumurrud, who is strategically positioned within the scene; she is not just a passing element, but a “silent guardian” of daily memory, a witness to intimate feelings and personal stories. Emerald goes beyond being a physical object to become a symbol of intuition, tranquility, and presence of mind, against a world crowded with intertwined natural and human symbols.

Through this work, the connection between small objects and human life is questioned, and how simple scenes can encapsulate deep layers of meaning and emotional memory.
